Elena Luz Simone arrived on Saturday, January 29th at 1:36 p.m. She weighed 8lb 7oz (3.85 kg) and was 21.25 in (54 cm).
Elena means Bright One and is pronounced Eh-Lay-Na. It's the Spanish form of Helen and is significant for our family, since Carl's grandma Heppner was Helena.
Luz means Light in Spanish and is pronounced Looz.
Simone means She who hears, God has heard. Simone is pronounced See-mown. It's a name that has meaning both in English in Spanish. It's a girls name we both like in English, but it also has the same pronunciation in Spanish for the boys name, Simon. And considering that Elena was born in Bolivia, it's fitting that she would have the third name after the liberator of Bolivia, Simon Bolivar.
So there you have it. Our beautiful baby girl has arrived in God's perfect timing.
