For Kezia's summer holiday activity, we enrolled her into gymnastics. Nati took me to a gym that is close to our house and since it was close and looked like fun, we decided to send Kezia there. We thought that she probably would enjoy dance classes more, but once we showed her some gymnastics video on the computer, she was SO excited about doing it.
She goes to gymnastics three times a week for 90 minutes each time. She really enjoys it because it's a little athletics mixed with artistic movement. In her little class, Kezia does sommersaults, jumps on the trampoline, learns how to balance on the little beam, do the splits, and do a few little cheers. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to watch an entire class, because they have the majority of their instruction in a little room off the main gym. It's understandable that they wouldn't have all the parents there. During the first class, a few kids caught sight of their parents and immediately started hollering for Mommy and not listening to the teacher.
Kezia got her uniform last week and is just in her glory with it. We're really glad that we enrolled her; she's getting exercise, she's learning a bit of dance, and she's picking up more Spanish.
